DORA in Practice: Fintech Breakfast Fall Edition

On September 4, fintech professionals gathered at Startup House Riga for a practical morning focused on what DORA looks like beyond the regulation itself. ☕️🍂 The event brought together industry experts, technology specialists and the regulator to discuss how financial sector companies are approaching DORA implementation in practice. The morning featured three perspectives on digital operational resilience:

Practical implementation

CWISE shared hands-on experience of implementing DORA requirements, focusing on the technical and operational aspects companies need to address in practice.

Digital sovereignty

AWS presented its perspective on digital sovereignty in the EU and the role of cloud infrastructure in building secure and resilient financial services.

The regulator’s perspective

Latvijas Banka shared lessons learned from DORA implementation and discussed how organisations should think about resilience not only as a regulatory requirement, but also in terms of business value and return on investment.

The presentations were followed by networking, giving participants an opportunity to exchange experiences, challenges and practical approaches to DORA implementation. A big thank you to Startup House Riga for hosting us and providing a great space for the fintech community to connect and learn together. Special thanks to Business Riga for supporting the event and helping us bring the community together. 🙌

DORA is more than compliance. It is about building financial services that are secure, resilient and ready for what comes next.
