Fintech Breakfast “FinTech companies and banks in Latvia – challenges and opportunities”
The Fintech Latvia Association’s favorite Fintech Breakfast event, which has already become a tradition, took place on Tuesday, 16 May and this time was organized in cooperation with the Bank of Latvia.
This year, the Bank of Latvia conducted a survey of financial market participants (Fintech companies and banks) on the #Fintech cooperation with banks. The results, presented during the event, highlighted both the challenges and the potential for cooperation, as well as pain-points of both sides.
Marine Krasovska, Head of Fintech Supervision at the Bank of Latvia, sommented: “All parties agree that there are a number of issues where dialogue is needed to facilitate the growth of the industry. Public sector partners and associations are facilitators of this dialogue so that fintech companies and banks can find and develop new models of cooperation.”
Jānis Blaževičs, Founder and CEO of CrowdedHero, one of the most important players in the Fintech sector in Latvia, stressed that it is important to work on strengthening cooperation for the common development of the financial sector.
